Supervisors met to approve a budget amendment which included a variety of items that needed to be adjusted up or down. Fitch and Hobbs were present. Stancil called in via phone. Fitch chaired the meeting.

14:00 In public comment during the budget hearing, Madison County resident Brent Sharon spoke about his personal experience with County Attorney Swanson and about his concerns with Swanson. He supported the hiring of outside council (an item on the budget amendment).

19:54 Steve Swanson then spoke via phone. He pushed back on Sharon’s comments.

22:35 Stancil stated that it is inappropriate for the county attorney to be discussing legal matters in a public hearing. Swanson began to yell and Fitch had both Stancil and Swanson muted. Hobbs stated that Stancil should not be muted as she is part of the meeting. Stancil was then unmuted.

23:25 Auditor Brant can be heard off camera saying “violating rules, I’ll be outside” and she left the room.

25:15 Approval of IT budget changes – Stancil commented on the reason for the purchase. Motion passed unanimously.
