The Republican primary has 5 candidates running: Eddie Andrews, Randy Feenstra, Zach Lahn, Brad Sherman, and Adam Steen. Should no candidate receive at least 35% of the vote in the primary, the nomination will be determined by the delegates at the Republican Party of Iowa state convention.

The Democrat primary is uncontested with Rob Sand as the only candidate on the ballot.

Republicans have a contested race for State Auditor between Chris Cournoyer and Abigail Maas. The Democrat race is uncontested.
